Socfindo ALSP - Ganoderma Fungus Pathology App
Basal Stem Rot (BSR), caused by the Ganoderma fungus, is the most devastating disease in the oil palm industry. PT Socfindo is at the global forefront of developing Ganoderma-resistant seeds. We built a specialized Pathology App to digitize their rigorous screening process, turning years of biological observations into actionable data.
The Challenge: Managing Complex Infestations
The pathology team must track how thousands of young palm trees (seedlings) react to artificial Ganoderma inoculation. This involves:
- Strain Management: Tracking different Ganoderma isolates collected from across Indonesia.
- Longitudinal Observation: Recording "external" symptoms (wilting, yellowing) and "internal" decay over several months.
- Massive Data Points: Screening over 1,200 crosses annually, each requiring precise time-stamped entries.
Our Solution: The Pathology Data Engine
We developed a high-integrity data system tailored for the strict protocols of a pathology lab.
Key Modules:
- Isolate Library: A digital catalog of Ganoderma strains, tracking their source location and level of aggressiveness (malignancy).
- Early Screening Tracker: A mobile interface for researchers to score seedlings in the nursery, capturing everything from initial infection signs to final mortality rates.
- Resistance Indexing: The system automatically calculates the Resistance Level of different genetic crosses, helping breeders identify "Elite" resistant material (like Socfindo’s famous DxP MT Gano).
- Death Rate Analytics: Automated generation of survival curves and infection kinetics, allowing the team to compare how fast different progenies succumb to the disease.

Socfindo ALSP - Palm Tree Observation App
To maintain their position as a top-tier seed provider, PT Socfindo must constantly identify "Elite" mother palms. This requires years of meticulous field observation. Doiscode Technology built a specialized mobile application to digitize the Phenotyping process, replacing traditional paper tally sheets with high-precision digital data entry.
The Process: Measuring the "Golden" Tree
The app serves as a digital toolkit for field researchers to record complex biological data points that determine a tree's genetic value.
Key Observation Modules:
- Vegetative Measurement: Digitally recording leaf length, leaflet count, and petiole cross-sections to automatically calculate Leaf Area Index (LAI).
- Yield Recording (Bunch Analysis): Tracking the weight and frequency of Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) over time to determine the tree's productivity.
- Genetic Scoring: A system that aggregates various data points to rank trees based on their Inheritance Value, helping Socfindo decide which trees should be used for future breeding.
- Longitudinal Tracking: Every tree is treated as a "Unique Asset," with a digital history that spans years of growth and production.
The Innovation: Real Time Field Calculation
- Instant Validation: The app prevents data entry errors (e.g., impossible leaf measurements) right at the moment of observation.
- Automated Computation: Complex formulas (like Leaf Area calculation) are performed instantly on the device, giving researchers immediate feedback.
- Sync & Analyze: Data from remote blocks is synced to the central R&D database for instant analysis by the Socfindo geneticists.

United Plantation BHD Malaysia - Seed Breeding & Laboratory App
United Plantation BHD required a robust, high precision solution to manage their specialized seed breeding and laboratory operations. Doiscode Technology developed UPRD Crosstag, an integrated mobile and web ecosystem designed to track the lifecycle of seed production—from the initial field inspection to final laboratory processing.
We engineered a comprehensive digital toolset that serves as the central nervous system for United Plantation’s breeding division.
Key Features:

Socfindo BBSP - Sample Analytic Laboratory App
PT Socfindo operates world-class laboratory facilities for agricultural analysis. They needed a digital bridge to connect their expertise with external customers (plantations, farmers, and researchers) who require precise soil, leaf, and fertilizer analysis.
The Workflow: The "Logistics to Lab" Engine
We built a seamless, end to end platform that mirrors a modern e-commerce and courier experience.
1. Customer Portal (The "Storefront")
- Customers can browse analysis packages (e.g., Soil Nutrient Profile, Leaf Tissue Analysis).
- Integrated ordering system with automated price calculations.
- Digital "Waybill" generation, allowing customers to track their physical samples just like a JNE package.
2. Sample Reception & Tracking
- Upon arrival at the Socfindo lab, samples are scanned and verified against the digital order.
- Status updates are sent automatically to the customer: Sample Received, In Analysis, Completed.
3. Advanced Analytics & Lab Integration
- Lab technicians input data directly into the system, ensuring high-speed processing and data integrity.
- Integration with internal lab equipment to reduce manual data entry.
4. Digital Certification & Delivery
- Once the analysis is validated, the system automatically generates a Digital Certificate of Analysis (CoA).
- Customers can download their results instantly through the portal, eliminating the wait for physical mail.
